7 Things The Professional Needs To Know About Microblading

1.) Before you start Microblading you will need an understanding of the risks of blood-borne pathogens and proper sterilization techniques to:

2.) Check your needles with a loupe before starting every procedure.
Defects in your needle can't be seen by the naked eye and can cause scarring in the skin and create unwanted outcomes (jagged lines). If you don't have a loop you can take a picture of the blade with your phone and zoom in to take a close-up look.
3.) I would like to say that if you are an absolute beginner it is best to steer clear of these 2 types of skin:
A) As a beginner, stay away from thick skin with large pores as this type of skin is a little trickier than any other type. Stay away from this type of skin until you become more proficient at determining the depth level of your blade.
B) Extremely thin skin coupled with rosacea. This combination of skin will bleed excessively diluting your pigment and resulting in very weak results. Knowing the different types of skin and how to work on them is one of the most crucial skills to develop in microblading and will come with experience.
4.) Don't start working on live models until you've practiced your patterning and feel completely confident in drawing brows and hair growth patterns.
Practice your depth on practice skins checking your strokes with a loop. Once you are proficient at both of those practices (not before), you are ready for a live model.
5.) You cannot get great results without proper stretching of the skin.
A good 3-point stretch will produce clear, clean strokes. The right depth will ensure your strokes stay crisp after they are healed.
6.) The tools you use will either elevate your work or drag it down.
It's important to get your pigments and blades from a reputable source (I like and use MBA Pigments and Harmony Blades)
7.) Microblading results will vary based on 4 factors:
- Client skin conditions
- Tools used
- The technique used (a 3 point stretch and the correct depth)
- Aftercare.
